Britney to return to acting?

(RTTNews) - Britney Spears has made her intentions of returning to the big screen next year known, only this time she wants to play the role of the bad girl. 

"Definitely next year I am going to take a different route," Spears told The Sun. "I see myself being a detective, assassin or even a bad girl."

Spears first appeared on the big screen back in 2002 in the film Crossroads, which was largely panned by critics, and which only took in $61 million at the international box office.

Although the hitmaker songstress has only appeared in one big screen role to date, she has appeared on the small screen a number of times, landing roles in such television shows as How I Met Your Mother, Glee and Will and Grace.
