Florence Welch: "My ex nearly caused me to lose a leg"

Singer Florence Welch has claimed she nearly lost her leg thanks to one of her ex boyfriends.

The Florence and the Machine star still has a scar on her right foot from when she was just 17.

It was caused when she received a phone call from a boy she liked, which made her jump around the room.

But when she was doing so, she accidentally landed on a piece of floorboard which almost led to a serious injury.

Florence told British newspaper The Guardian: "A piece of floorboard got stuck in there when I was 17. I jumped off the bed because a boy I liked had phoned me. He turned out to be my first love, so, I mean, that worked out. But I almost lost the foot. This is the problem with being an exuberant person."
