BET Bans Nicki Minaj’s New “Stupid Hoe” Music Video for Obvious Reasons

BET has finally done something that I’ve been desperately hoping would happen: they’ve given us a four-minute window where we will be free of Nicki Minaj. According to TMZ, BET has refused to play the new music video for her song “Stupid Hoe” and is banning it from the network. I’m not a network executive, but perhaps their decision has something to do with the fact that every other word out of Minaj’s mouth is “hoe.” In fact, Spin was kind enough to keep a running tally of offensive material in the video.

According to Spin, Minaj says the word “hoe” a total of 52 times, she says “f**k” 10 times, various mannequin butts are depicted for 12 seconds, while Minaj’s implanted-butt is shown for 10 seconds. Oh, I should probably mention that the video is just over 3 minutes long. Thanks to Spin, we know that 10.4 percent of the video is devoted to butts.

There are other strange parts of the video. For instance — CGI bulging eyeballs that Minaj sports at one point. If you have seen Adam Sandler’s “Bedtime Stories,” then you know exactly what kind of eyes I’m talking about. Believe me, they look much better on that little hamster thing. BET has been relatively quiet about the specific reasons for the ban, but TMZ claims they spoke with a rep that told them that the video was simply just too explicit for TV.

Watch 30 seconds of the strange video and you will feel yourself slipping into epileptic shock. Also, if you are intent on watching this, you might want to not watch it on the full YouTube page. Because of the nice Vevo layout, you get a creepy half view of David Guetta peering at you from the side of the screen. The video has an astonishing 304,597 dislikes on YouTube (and counting).
