When it comes to entertainment this time of year, nothing says "it's summer!" quite like outdoor (and indoor) arts festivals. Well, maybe not more than exploding trains and car chases in the movie theater, but you get our drift.
Although most performing arts groups don't begin their new seasons until September, there's plenty going on
onstage this summer. Here are highlights of the North Texas performing arts events in June, July and August.
June
2: PianoTexas International Academy and Festival, featuring all of Beethoven's 32 sonatas played throughout the festival and an appearance by famed conductor Leon Fleisher, runs through June 28 at PepsiCo Recital Hall, TCU, Fort Worth. $25 per concert. 817-257-7456; www.pianotexas.org.
