The music video was originally supposed to be released on June 14, but Perry told everyone on her Facebook page that she would release it early if everyone could get #kathybethterry to trend on Twitter.
And she stayed true to her word.
The music video for “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” was released on the Funny Or Die website and it lives up to its name.
The video follows Kathy Beth Terry, Perry’s alter ego, who gets pulled into attending a wild party at her neighbor’s house.
It features guest appearances from Glee’s Darren Criss and Kevin McHale, “Friday” singer Rebecca Black, the brothers of the band Hanson, Corey Feldman, Debbie Gibson, and Kenny G.
What’s so great about the music video is that it doesn’t hold back on anything. The ‘80s theme goes above and beyond and the fact that the nerdy Kathy Beth Terry does body shots off of the hunky football player makes it all the more fun.
